The Way Funky Company is an Australian company with our design house located in Collingwood, Australia. We produce the swimwear labels, Kiargo, a fashion separates range for women, Funky Trunks for men, boys and toddlers and the active label Funkita for ladies, girls and toddlers. Our emphasis is product quality and originality of design. We do not heavily promote our labels because in the end this is paid for by the customer. Instead, we source the highest quality inputs to meet our strict manufacturing standards and are continually designing new prints and styles to grow our exciting library of work. We are established with one of the world's leading swimwear and underwear factories, and source specific blends of Italian fabrics in all our products to meet the demands of the demands of our customer.
With an opulent and unique signature style, the well structured range of Kiargo swimwear separates exhibit exceptional quality and originality of design. The label was established in 2006 with an emphasis on retro and vintage styling. This is evident with styles offering tailored shapes with coverage and hidden structure to enhance assets and control and conceal problematic areas. Combine this with a luxurious sense of style through customised trimmings, print and colour and you have a brand with the capacity to make real women feel well supported and comfortably glamorous on the beach or by the pool.
The range of styles offer mix and match pieces to suit a variety of cup fittings, currently extending from an A to and G cup. The strong focus on bust support is evident through underwires, padding and boning in adjustable styles. Briefs offer powermesh control panelling, varied leg shapes, gathering, frills and adjustable waists. The selection of one piece styles truly amplifies these supportive elements and exhibits a svelte retro feel.

In October 2002 the Way Funky Company designed the first pair of Funky Trunks. They were launched unceremoniously at a suburban Melbourne pool to a chorus of laughter and cheers possibly tinged with a hint of sarcasm. It was hardly the springboard for a budding swimwear label but as the jokes died, the Australian male inclined to swim laps began to question the appeal of exercising in tight briefs. It was a question that reverberated around the swimming pools of Australia. Funky Trunks were adopted by state, national, Olympic swimmers and even by our dads to put comfort and style back into swimming. Ten years on, Funky Trunks has come to symbolise the original reinvention of the men’s swimwear market. Funky Trunks paves the way for the continued advancement of men’s swimwear design with innovative styling and a continuous, fresh supply of vibrant colours and prints. Funky Trunks are the reason why original is best. And now it’s time for underwear!
Funkita was launched in 2004 with the same colour and flair that the boys had embraced from the Funky Trunks swimwear range. Funkita places an emphasis on creating sculpted styles and prints that not only look great but feel comfortable to wear day after day in the water. With a strong sense of individual style and desire for a happy, healthy lifestyle, the Funkita customer presents an image of strength and vitality. She regularly exercises (or plans to at least) as an outlet from her busy schedule of work, family and social commitments. She has a cheeky nature and loves to laugh but has a strong moral and social conscience. She is comfortable with her figure and her magic formula for maintaining her appearance is to stay active!
The expansion of the Way Funky Company with Kiargo, Funky Trunks and Funkita in Australia is a pathway to the global market which we endeavour to pursue with the continued support and belief of our customers.
We are guided by the basic principles of promoting individuality in social cohesion. We limit the 'push' of our brands onto you but rather focus on the 'pull' of letting you discover us. We let you decide if our brands are going to meet your needs. Of course we'll promote our brands, we'll try and get you to notice us but we won't tell you more than what we are. This means we won't tell you what type of person you need to be to wear our product or how you're going to look wearing it. The One Funky World Foundation is a registered Australian charity established by the Way Funky Company. One Funky assists organisations in Australia and overseas that provide important community services, but are limited by inadequate funding or technical assistance. Current projects are focusing on the empowerment of people living with disability.
The One Funky World concept was built on the success of the Way Funky Company which brought together the support, ideas and passion of a number of young enthusiastic Australians who are committed to helping others and themselves get as much fun and freedom out of life as possible.
