F-Team Ready for World SC Champs

7 December 2018

Holly Barratt
Commonwealth Games medallist Holly Barratt joins the Dolphins in China for World SC Champs.

Things are about to get FUNKY as Funkita F-Teamers get ready to race at the 14th FINA World Short Course Swimming Champs in Hangzhou, China. Let's have a closer look at our Funkita athletes who will be competing on the international stage.

Holly Barratt (AUS)

Holly "The Cat Lady" Barratt is looking to power through a week of ultra-fast sprinting. Holly broke onto the international racing scene in 2017 when she earned a spot on the Australian Team at 29, making her the oldest rookie on the team. Holly has had a successful year, including winning a silver medal at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in the 50m Butterfly. World SC Champs will be her second international appearance in 2018 and she is ready to get racing!

Carla Buchanan
Carla is pumped to be back on the Australian Team for the first time since 2016!

Carla Buchanan (AUS)

Making her return to the Australian Dolphins Swim Team, Carla Buchanan is keen to represent Australia in 3 events at World SC Champs in China. Carla made her Australian team debut back in 2016 at the World SC Champs in Canada, but injury prevented her from qualifying again before now. Carla smashed it at the 2018 Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Championships and was selected to race once for Australia against the best in the world. It's a super exciting finish to a huge 2018 for Carla!

At the Mediterranean Games she came away with a bronze medal and added an extra two Portuguese national records to her name. Diana currently holds four national records: 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m Freestyle. We can't wait to see how Diana does at World SC Champs to finish off an excellent year.
