Happy to be racing again after a Covid-induced hiatus, our Queensland F-Teamers stepped up to the blocks this weekend at the Brisbane Short Course Championships proving that their tough training and patience has paid off.

Veteran F-Teamer Carla Buchanan, racing for her new club Rackley Swim Team, had a clean sweep of her three Freestyle events, winning gold in the 100m, 200m and 400m Freestyle events. She had some tough competition, racing against highly ranked swimmers Minna Atherton and Mikayla Messer.

Nudgee College's Tiana Kritzinger dominated the 15 year olds with first place finishes in her age group in the 100m and 200m Freestyle, the 100m and 200m Butterfly, the 200m Breaststroke and 200m IM and placed second in the 100m Breaststroke event.

Tasmania-born St. Peter's Western Swimmer, Stef McCarthy, stepped up to the blocks in her new APEX Predator in the bold Futurismo print. She loved racing in her new suit. "I raced practically on my PBs for all of my races and even managed to get a PB in the 200 Free!" Stef held her own, placing in the top three in her age group in the all of the 5 events she raced in.

One of our newest F-Teamers, 18 year old University of Queensland's Georgia Powell, had a great meet, placing first overall in the 50m Breaststroke and second in both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke events.

After a successful two days of racing they will now turn their attention to the Queensland Short Course Championships which will take place on September 25th.
